Linkasink C005-2 16 Inch Small Square-Drop-In or Undermount Bathroom Sink Copper sinks have a “living finish” that will continue to age and change with time. The metal is left unsealed without a clear top coat to prevent corrosion. Without a clear topcoat, these sinks will continue to age and their colors will continue to evolve as the base metal reacts with the environment. No two sinks will age at the same rate or go through the same color phases. Their continued evolution is completely dependent on the environment in which they are placed. A heat-set patina process is used to produce the Weathered Copper and Dark Bronze finish. During this process the sinks are sealed with a coat of dark paste wax. The wax that is applied to the sink will wear off over time and a new coat of paste wax should be applied periodically. Gentle soap and water will maintain the sink. No abrasives or harsh chemicals should be used. Avoid the use of antibacterial soap, as it also has the tendency to harm the patina finish. Polished and Satin Nickel finishes are considered a “precious metal” and should be cared for as such. Gentle soap and water should be used for day to day cleaning. Never use any abrasives or harsh chemicals on the sink. As nickel will darken over time, a mild silver cream will restore the nickel finish. Each nickel sink is coated with a clear paste wax which will delay the darkening of the nickel. The clear paste wax will wear away with cleaning and should be reapplied. Mild soap and water will maintain the sink. A stainless steel cleaner/polish may be used for more thorough cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaning cloths and pads. Always clean with the brush pattern of the sink. Stainless steel sinks will scratch from everyday use. However, these scratches will blend over time to create a unique finish.
